Sopheon became the company it is today in 2000. Prior to that time, it had operated as a research company focused on software that supported language-intensive business processes, and was financed by management and Eureka, a European Union funding program. In 2000, Sopheon acquired Teltech, a technology and business subscription service company that solved technical problems through “expert networks” for leading R&D-based companies in North America. The newly merged company fused their respective technologies and expertise, and launched the first version of Accolade software in the following year, in 2001.
