Wellspring CEO: Why I’m excited about how Sopheon and Wellspring fit together

Wellspring_Blog_1100x300

Today, it is my pleasure to share that the acquisition of Sopheon by Wellspring is complete. Briefly here, I’d like to elaborate on why we think this is a great move for both companies.

We live in a fast-changing world, one that presents both outsized opportunities but also extreme challenges — from pandemics to AI to climate change and more. We believe that innovation is the key to overcoming these challenges and capturing the greatest promise for our shared future. By bringing together Sopheon and Wellspring, we are combining two of the world’s leading innovation software companies into one entity.

I’ve been impressed by the complementary nature of our two businesses. Wellspring has its roots in Academic and Government innovation – especially the Technology Transfer process – while Sopheon has long enjoyed formidable strengths in the corporate innovation market. It’s as if we were designed to come together, to make a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

We are confident that Sopheon and Wellspring will fit very well together. Because our two companies’ solution sets are so complementary, the combined strategy will focus on expanding and enhancing the value we offer. In the months to come, we will focus on delivering that promise. As our integration takes shape, we will have much more to share with you about what you can expect going forward.

We are looking forward to the next phase of our journey together, which promises to be a particularly exciting phase in Wellspring’s and Sopheon’s respective histories. And I’d like to think that this is good news for the wider world — as we help innovators create solutions for today’s most complex problems.
