Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to oversee all marketing operations of the company and develop its marketing strategy and vision. You will oversee a team of enthusiastic marketing professionals and will direct our marketing efforts towards great success to ensure the company’s sales-led and product-led marketing efforts are successful in helping it outperform competition.

We are seeking someone who is passionate for their profession and have great knowledge for all things marketing. They can balance a practical mindset with a creative business acumen and lead people through complex marketing operations.


Job Responsibilities

  • Generate awareness for Sopheon in its markets and for the individual products and services we sell and support for various stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Build integrated programs and metrics for demand generation that allows Sophoen to achieve its bookings and revenue goals.
  • Provide, along with product marketing and others, the materials to support the company’s sales-led and product-led businesses.
  • Along with other go to market leaders and executives, define the needs for the top of the funnel and middle of the funnel activities, and implement them in marketing, to achieve the businesses bookings and revenue goals.
  • Own the relationships with industry analysts and other key market influencers and thought leaders. Ensure these relationships can aid the business in achieving its goals.
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure tight alignment in building and growing Sopheon’s product-led flywheel.
  • Cooperate and collaborate with other departments and their leaders to guide a unified approach to the business model and go to market activities.
  • Define marketing strategies to support the company’s overall strategies and objectives with associated OKRs and KPIs.
  • Develop and communicate a feasible marketing plan for the department and Sopheon and oversee its day-to-day implementation. Ensure the plan can be modified as the business situation changes. Update quarterly at a minimum.
  • Plan and organize marketing functions and operations as appropriate to reach the Sopheon goals.
  • Build a highly efficient team of marketing professionals and ensure their success and growth with the company.
  • Create a solid network of strategic partnerships, along with product management and sales input, as needed for the company.
  • Use outside vendors judiciously and as partners to achieve the marketing and business goals.
  • Define and own the marketing budget that will allow Sopheon to meet stakeholders needs.

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with CRM and SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Adwords, HubSpot, SalesForce, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of data analysis
  • Regularly produce and present reports to the company and the board of directors.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of business operations.

Experience and Education

  • Proven experience as CMO or similar role
  • Demonstrable experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all marketing aspects (branding, product promotion etc.)
  • Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods
  • Ability to apply marketing techniques over digital (e.g. social media) and non-digital (e.g. press) channels
  • Understanding of different business disciplines (IT, finance etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office and business software (e.g. CRM)
  • A leader with both creative and analytical capabilities
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities
  • BSc/BA in business administration, marketing, communications, or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus

Please contact us to discuss how your skills and experience could influence the stated starting salary. Employees are paid depending on their qualifications and locations. The starting salary of $165,000 listed is for Colorado specifically.
