As Product Owner at Sopheon, you are the expert at delivering a product strategy through actively guiding the direction of multiple agile development teams. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas and strategies based on your industry experience and your contact with stakeholders, including customers (internal and external), and prospects. You define the intended use cases, user community and pain points targeting key benefits, and target users. You will also serve as the evangelist for your product suite. You will own the relationship with customer steering committees to validate that the intended solutions match expectations of the real users. You will be able to emotionally connect the user to the desired end-state user experience, as well as provide an analytical approach to the UI design.

 Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop roadmaps for one or more product capabilities in support of the overall product strategy through understanding the competitive landscape, and customer and market needs
  • Daily product owner for agile development team(s) in the execution of defined roadmap
  • Drive agile principles and manage priorities that ensure the value for intended release strategies
  • Manage the product release life cycle from release planning and launch to tactical activities, including backlog grooming and story acceptance
  • Educate and evangelize new product functionality to internal cross-functional team
  • Provide product expertise, triage day-to-day support and service questions and issues on “how” the product should work, while communicating the “why” behind functionality decisions
  • Effectively prioritize day-to-day customer demands on the team versus the release strategy and delivery expectations
  • Understand root cause of defect trends and promote the work to reduce ongoing maintenance costs
  • Work with customers, UX designers and Product Management team to drive next generation product experience

  • Ability to translate complex ideas and detailed information into elegant written, spoken, and visual communications
  • Innovative mindset to bring forward new, creative ideas and the ability to make them a reality
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and practices, especially agile

 Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field
  • 2-5 years of product management and business analyst experience in an agile environment

Desired Certifications

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner
  • Pragmatic Marketing

 Travel requirements

  • 15% (some international)

  • Successful delivery of product capabilities and features with positive user feedback and adoption
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog, balancing customer defects, architecture work, customer-driven functionality, and strategic features in alignment with product and company goals
  • Effectively communicate vision and value so that stakeholders understand the value of what is being delivered and how it advances the long-term product vision
