Thank you for visiting www.Sopheon.com ("the Web Site"). By accessing or submitting data into the Web Site, you expressly and explicitly consent to the collection and use of personal information about you as set out below.

Sopheon may, acting in its sole discretion, modify, revise, amend, replace or delete this Privacy Statement at any time without first notifying you. That being so you should visit this section of the Web Site on a regular basis to review this Privacy Statement. This Privacy Statement was last updated on Monday, 17 December 2007.

We believe that you need to trust us when you use the Web Site. We take your privacy very seriously. The following Privacy Statement sets out, in relation to the Web Site, what sort of information we collect about you, how we collect that information, how we use that information, how we protect that information, how that information can be corrected and/or updated and how you can ask us to stop storing information about you. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU AND HOW WE COLLECT IT

Every time you visit the Web Site our web server automatically logs your IP address (if you are connected to the Internet you will automatically have an IP address. "213.48.49.158" is an example of an IP address), the type of operating system that your computer uses (for example, Microsoft Windows® 2000) and the type of web browser you are using to access the Web Site (for example, Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer). From that information we can find out who your Internet service provider is and the location from which you are accessing the Web Site. Our web server also logs the IP address of the web site you visited immediately before accessing the Web Site.

The Web Site contains certain forms for you to complete to request further information from us or to request customer support from us. Those forms require you to submit your full name (and, in the case of customer support, the name of your company), your e-mail address and your phone number. Those forms also give you the opportunity to join various mailing lists offered by Sopheon. We store all of the information submitted by you into the Web Site in our databases.

The Web Site also enables you to send certain e-mails to us (for example, to webmaster@sopheon.com or to info@sopheon.com. We store all of the e-mails sent by you to us.

We currently use "cookies" on the Web Site. Cookies are a technology which can be used to provide you with tailored information from the Web site. A cookie is an element of data that a Web site can send to your browser, which may then store it on your system. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether to accept it. Cookies are used on the Web Site for the following purposes: User targeting, Research and development.

HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION

We use the information we collect about you for the following purposes:

  • The information automatically logged (i.e. your IP address, your operating system and browser type) each time you access the Web Site is not used by us for any particular purpose. Our web server simply and automatically logs that information each time you access the Web Site.
  • We use the information submitted by you when requesting information or customer support from us to respond to your request for information or customer support. If you choose to join any of the mailing lists offered by Sopheon, we will use the information stored about you to send mailings to you.
  • We use any information received by us in any e-mail received from you, such as info@sopheon.com, to respond to your e-mail.

Save as set out in this Privacy Statement or as permitted or required by applicable laws, we will not disclose or share the information we collect about you to third parties. We reserve the right however to disclose or share information we collect about you on or through the Web Site to other companies within our group of companies, to suppliers of services to us, or to government agencies (such as the police) or courts of competent authority.

BY SUBMITTING INFORMATION INTO THE WEB SITE YOU EXPRESSLY AND EXPLICITLY CONSENT TO THOSE USES AND/OR TRANSFERS OF INFORMATION ABOUT YOU. If you do not consent to any of the uses and/or potential transfers of information about you set out in this Privacy Statement, please do not submit any information into the Web Site.

HOW WE PROTECT THAT INFORMATION

All of the information we collect about you is stored in an industry-standard secure database (which includes pass wording and firewalls). In addition, access to the information held on that database is restricted to particular employees of Sopheon. You should note however that there is no such thing as a perfectly secure database. Please bear that in mind when entering information into the Web Site.

If you suspect that any information held by us about you is incorrect, inaccurate or out of date, please contact us at webmaster@sopheon.com. When contacting us, please specify the information that you think is incorrect, inaccurate or out of date. Please also provide us with correct replacement information.
