Barry Mence, Chairman A co-founder of Sopheon, Mr. Mence has served as executive chairman and as a director and substantial shareholder since the company's inception in 1993. Prior to founding Sopheon, Mr. Mence served as a major shareholder and group managing director with the Rendeck Group of Companies, a software and services group based in the Netherlands.
Andy Michuda, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Michuda was appointed chief executive officer of Sopheon in 2000. He was previously CEO of Teltech Resource Network Corporation, until its acquisition by Sopheon. Earlier Mr. Michuda was with Control Data, where he served as general manager of the business that evolved into Decision Data, the world’s largest independent computer services provider.
Arif Karimjee, ACA, Chief Financial Officer Mr. Karimjee joined Sopheon as CFO in 1999. He was previously with Ernst & Young where he combined corporate advisory, audit and IT consulting roles in a number of positions. Mr. Karimjee graduated from Loughborough University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He secured his accounting qualification in 1991 while with Ernst & Young.
Paul Heller, Chief Technical Officer Mr. Heller has been leading technology strategy and product development at Sopheon since 1999. He earlier worked for Baan Company as vice president of product management, a central role in the development of the Baan front-office software products. Mr. Heller began his career with IBM, where he held a variety of positions in information technology, product development, sales, and consulting.
Huub Rutten, Vice President of Product Research and Design Mr. Rutten is co-founder of Sopheon. He has primary responsibility for Sopheon's healthcare business in the Netherlands and is integral to the company's ongoing product research. Mr. Rutten earned an advanced degree in Applied Linguistics in 1973. He subsequently worked for several institutes of higher education teaching linguistics and communications. He was a full-time adjunct professor at the European Institute for Public Administration (EIPA), a post-academic institute for research and high-level training. At EIPA, he was a permanent advisor to the European Commission, counseling them on IT and policy development.
